Nigerian professional footballer, Mikel Obi found love with Olga, a Russian model from a wealthy background with whom he has twin girls.
Olga,  the proud mother of Mikel Obi’s twin daughters, Ava and Mia, took to Instagram minutes ago to reveal that she enlisted the help of a natural hair stylist to tutor her on how to handle her daughter’s afros.
She wrote:
“Had a lovely morning learning all the ins and outs of Afro styling with beautiful Keisha Omilana. Thank you so much for a lovely tutorial!
Highly recommend it to all the “blonde” mums in London #afrohair #multiracialkids #curlyhair #hairtricks ,” she captioned the photos.

Acting President Yemi Osinbajo has signed the 2017 appropriation bill into law.
Mr. Osinbajo signed the budget at about 4:40 p.m. on Monday inside his conference room in the presence of the Chief of Staff to President Muhammadu Buhari, Abba Kyari; Senate President, Bukola Saraki, Speaker of the House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara, Ministers and other top government officials.
The total budget figure signed is put at N 7.44 trillion.
Mr. Osinbajo said his signing of the budget was a milestone in the implementation of the economic and growth plan programme put in place by Mr. Buhari in April.
He said the processes of putting the budget in place had been smoother than that of 2016 with no allegations of errors.
“There were far few cases of acrimony unlike in the past. There is no doubt at all that our democracy is maturing very well,” he said.
The National Assembly passed the 2017 Appropriations Bill on May 10 after raising from the N7.28 trillion earlier proposed by President Muhammadu Buhari in December last year, to N7.44 trillion.
President Buhari is away in the United Kingdom for medical treatment.
It is the first time in recent years that an acting president would sign the budget into law.
Mr. Osinbajo had on May 19 received the N7.441 trillion budget passed by the National Assembly.
Initially, there were controversies over whether he or President Muhammadu Buhari, who is away in London for medical treatment, would assent to the document.
But the acting President’s spokesperson, Laolu Akande, cleared that doubt on May 18 when he said Mr. Osinbajo would sign the bill once satisfied with its content.
“Just so we are clear: when the time comes, everything is set, and he is satisfied, Ag. President Yemi Osinbajo will assent to the 2017 Budget,” Mr. Akande tweeted at the time.
The National Assembly had last passed the budget, increasing the total sum by N143 billion compared to what was sent by President Muhammadu Buhari.

JUNE 12 IN NIGERIA

June 12 Not just another day in the lifetime of our nation

June 12, 1993 is a day that will never be forgotten in Nigeria's history.

It's been 24 years since Nigerians came out to vote for a civilian president. We had two choices, MKO Abiola the wealthy businessman on the ticket of the SDP and Bashir Tofa of the NRC.
I was a kid back then but I could sense the gravity of the elections. Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida had been in power since 1985. After tricking Nigerians several times he decided to hold a democratic election.

With a two party system, MKO Abiola and Bashir Tofa emerged as the presidential candidates of the Social Democratic Party and the National Republican Convention respectively.
Bashir Tofa N Bashir Tofa N

In the South-West, MKO Abiola was the candidate. I didn't know about politics and was way too young to vote but I knew Abiola was the candidate of choice. In 1993, Lagos and most of the country was engulfed in MKO Mania. He was positioned as the generous millionaire who would revitalize Nigeria's economy. A man who would put an end to decades of on and off military rule and coups.
MKO Abiola, man of the people MKO Abiola, man of the people
We the kids of Corona Primary School Apapa knew MKO's 'On the March Again' word for word. We sang it during lunch break or any free period we had. We joined our aunties and uncles in breaking down his initials as 'money, kudi, owo'.
The D-day finally came and my parents voted for him. My teachers voted for him. Everyone I knew voted for him. I had this tingling sensation that MKO was going to win.
The results started coming in and it was clear that MKO was going to win. It was just a matter of formality until IBB aka the Evil Genius appeared on our TV screens.
IBB and MKO Abiola IBB and MKO Abiola
"Fellow Nigerians: I address you today with a deep sense of world history and particularly of the history of our great country. In the aftermath of the recently annulled Presidential Election, I feel, as I believe you yourself feel, a profound sense of disappointment at the outcome of our last efforts at laying the foundation of a viable democratic system of government in Nigeria.
"I, therefore, wish, on behalf of myself and members of the National Defense and Security Council and indeed of my entire administration, to feel with my fellow countrymen and women for the cancellation of the election. It was a rather disappointing experience in the course of carrying through the last election of the transition to civil rule programme."
IBB annulled what has been deemed as Nigeria's freest and fairest election. The country was thrown into confusion. Nigerians had clearly spoken but IBB decided not to listen.

The aftermath of June 12, 1993, led Nigeria into a crisis. There were riots and protests. I remember leaving school early on many days because there were riots in Lagos. I remember my green leaves on the windscreen of my father's car. It was a sign of solidarity. It was a sign to tell the protesters that we were down for the cause.
Two months later after much upheaval, IBB 'stepped aside' as Head of State. The events that would play out after this would throw Nigeria into darkness for the next 5 years.
IBB tarnished his legacy by denouncing the will of the people and MKO Abiola started his journey to immortality.

Eminem gives special surprise to 2017 Flint graduates

One of rap's biggest stars brought more than 230 Flint Community Schools graduates to their feet Tuesday evening at the Dort Event Center with just the sound of his voice.
Prior to the seniors crossing the stage to applause from parents and friends, a picture of Eminem flashed onto four large screens high above the arena floor.
"What's up Class of 2017? This is Eminem. I just want to say congratulations to the graduating seniors of Flint Northwestern, Flint Southwestern and Flint Accelerated Learning Academy," blared the rapper's voice. "Congrats to all your guys' hard work, man. You earned this moment."
After Eminem's acknowledgment, the graduates all learned they wouldn't just be receiving their diplomas. The rapper's foundation would also help provide a new set of Beats by Dre headphones to each graduate.
Flint Northwestern senior Betty Davis, 18, was surprised after learning about the headphones being handed out to all the graduates.
"I thought he was just going to give his speech on the speaker and it just was going to be that," she said. "I greatly appreciate Eminem for giving out like he did. He didn't have to and the fact that he can see so much potential in Flint and Flint students, it just makes the gift so much more worth keeping."
Eminem and his Marshall Mathers Foundation reached out to the school district with the idea, according to Flint schools Superintendent Bilal Tawwab.
"I commend him for being very genuine, not really looking for all the attention, media hype, just really doing something for kids," Tawwab said. "We're really excited to be able to surprise them this evening (with the gift)."
It's the second giveaway by the rapper and his foundation to Flint schools, following more than 240 backpacks stuffed with supplies given away in August 2016 to Freeman Elementary students.

FG recovers N7bn, $10m from private homes – AGF

FG recovers N7bn, $10m from private homes – AGFAttorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami (SAN)

The anti-corruption crusade of the Federal Government has so far yielded N57.9 billion and $666.676 million, according to Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami (SAN).
Of this amount, N7 billion and $10 million cash was recovered from private residences of former public officers, the minister said in an update on the crusade.
Malami revealed the figures while defending the 2017 Appropriation bill of his ministry before the Senate Committee on Judiciary, Human Rights and Legal Matters at the National Assembly in Abuja.
But he was silent on the identity of the individuals in whose houses the money was recovered.
The farthest he went was that the recovered funds included “the N50b fine paid by MTN (a telecommunication company), N7 million and $10 million (recovered from private residences) and N90 million (which was voluntarily returned).”
Malami’s spokesman, Salihu Isah, also quoted him as saying: “$250m found to be proceeds of illegal oil bunkering has been temporarily forfeited to the government; $136.676 million is awaiting actual remittance, while $270 million FG’s fund has also been recovered from commercial banks.”
The Attorney General said the ministry operated through 2016 without capital budget.
Malami said: “Our budgetary proposal of N18, 528,093,480.00 was not appropriated thereby compelling the Ministry to operate on a zero capital budget.
“I am happy to state however, that we as a ministry recorded modest achievements in the act of contributing to the revenue generation of the federal government notwithstanding the zero capital budgets.”
The AGF said a total of N6,914,774,768.00 was earmarked for the Ministry in the 2017 budget as against N3,921,612,815 last year
He explained that the Ministry plans to spend N4,278,824,404.00 on personnel cost, N1,000,006,899.00 on legal services, N946,834,670.00 on overhead and N689,108,794.00 on capital projects.
He explained that the personnel cost will also cover allowances of Nigerian lawyers providing legal services within the sub-region and the recently approved harmonization of salaries of lawyers in the Ministry.
Malami stressed that the legal services sub-head caters for the core mandate of the ministry, including payment of legal fees to external solicitors engaged by the Ministry.
He said: “This sub head has been allocated the sum of N1,000,006,898.00 (One billion, six thousand, eight hundred and ninety nine naira) as against N843,563,146.00 allocated in 2016, representing an increase of N156,443,753.00, about 18.5 per cent increase.
“Given the enormous additional responsibilities on the ministry arising from the passage of the Administration of Criminal Justice Act (ACJA) 2015 as well as the increase in the quantum of other activities currently being pursued by the Ministry, this amount is unarguably, grossly inadequate and will unfortunately over stretch the Ministry capacity to cope to the maximum in the light of the prevailing realities.”
Malami expressed optimism that the N689,108,794.00 allocated to the ministry for 2017 capital projects will boost the Ministry’s performance index.
“The projects, if implemented, will greatly enhance our capacity for effectiveness and improved service delivery and undoubtedly encourage and motivate our lawyers to give their best in the service of our dear nation,” the AGF maintained.
Responding to Senator Ovie Omo-Agege comment on the payment of outstanding judgment debts, Malami explained that he was conscious and perturbed, adding that concerted efforts are ongoing to offset the outstanding and probably abate future debts.
He said: “I have a cause to sign a letter sent to the Budget Office this morning before leaving my office to attend to this national calling and constitutional responsibility.
“If the desired response was not gotten from the Budget Office between now and Monday next week, I will fall back on the committee for emergency executive meeting on the way out of the judgment debts outstanding.”
A few weeks back, the Minister of Information and Culture, Lai Mohammed, announced that the newly introduced whistle blowing policy of the government had led to the recovery of over $151 million (N46 billion) and N8 billion looted funds.
Mohammed said at the time that the looted funds did not include the $9.2 million in cash recovered from a Kaduna house owned by a former Group Managing Director of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, Andrew Yakubu.
He said the money recovery was made possible by three whistleblowers.
He said: “When we told Nigerians that there was a primitive and mindless looting of the national treasury under the last administration, some people called us liars.
“Well, the whistle-blower policy is barely two months old and Nigerians have started feeling its impact, seeing how a few people squirreled away public funds.
“It is doubtful if any economy in the world will not feel the impact of such mind-boggling looting of the treasury as was experienced in Nigeria.
“Yet, whatever has been recovered so far, including the $9.2 million by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, is just a tip of the iceberg.’’
